Still Illisconsin-ish after all these years...

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Inland North

You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."

Aaarrgh

OK, it's been 10 months since my last confession. Oh so lazy. I feel bad for the folks who stop by here, and I know there are some, for the site meter tells me so. But why are there visitors? Because my pal Lulu occasionally posts my link and what with Lu's site being popular and all, folks see the link and figure there must be something of interest to be found here. My sincere apologies. I may try to remedy that. For the moment, though, I wish one and all a happy Talk Like a Pirate Day. Yarrr.

And a very happy birthday to the entire sisterhood of Sophia.

Yes, These Things Are Dumb...

72 Project: Day Twenty-One

Your Political Profile:

Overall: 10% Conservative, 90% Liberal

Social Issues: 0% Conservative, 100% Liberal

Personal Responsibility: 0% Conservative, 100% Liberal

Fiscal Issues: 25% Conservative, 75% Liberal

Ethics: 0% Conservative, 100% Liberal

Defense and Crime: 25% Conservative, 75% Liberal

How Can You Refuse Bonnie Raitt?

72 Project: Day Twenty

So, maybe I'll try to end my benign neglect of this here blog thingy. Who knows. My two or three readers may have been wondering if this year's 72 Project would end at 19. (Coming next year -- The 19 Project: Slacker's Delight!) Let's see...there are 74 days left in 2007... what are the odds that I will post something on 52 of those days? Stop giggling, Lulu.

But I will post something today. This video is making the rounds, but putting it on here is the very least I can do to help the cause. Watch if you haven't seen it, and spread the word.

Fun Is Frosting

In honor of the birthdays of Sophia and her mighty sisterhood, I have briefly crawled out from under my rock to offer a little extra shortening, piled high... (First person to deliver me a cake gets bonus points.)

Take Anything You Want

72 Project: Day Nineteen

If you plan to travel to the States, there are a few phrases that will help you get through the normal day-to-day activities, and make your stay here much more pleasurable. And remember, learning is always easier in an 80's-style aerobics class.

This is Comforting...
